Why are typical real estate commissions so high?
Depending on market conditions, between 40% and 50% of listings never sell. This is a lot of time, effort and money spent by a Realtor who will never get paid. So when a property does sell, the Realtor wants to be well paid to make up for their losses. Should you have to pay for their losses? We don't think our clients should. Avoid having your home sit on the market and avoid paying too much for real estate commissions.
Will other realtors show my home?
Since the inception of the Money Saver Realty concept, 85% of our listings have been sold by outside MLS realtors. This is approximately the same percentage as conventional real estate brokerages. Most buyers search for homes on the internet and Real Estate papers while using a realtor at the same time. This has now empowered the buyer to sort and select the properties that they wish to view. This is a complete reversal from just a few years ago where the realtor would have sorted, selected and decided which homes the customer would view. A recent survey by a major Canadian Real Estate Association showed that 75% of people will use the internet to assist them in the purchase of their next home. Statistics also reveal that MLS.ca is consistently one of the highest searched websites in Canada.
